Costurando

Apetece-me fazer algo relaxante...

It was a normal sunny sunday, the end of the christmas vacation, when I thought:
- "What a lovely sunday! I want to do something relaxing... Oh, what about a sewing project?"

One of my christmas presents was a white Moleskine 2015 Diary, so I decided to make a little case to keep it clean while I carry it inside my backpack. I chose two fabrics, one was a washing cloth from Loja do Gato Preto, and the other was just a cotton cloth.

I knew what I wanted my little case to look like, with all the hems turned under and sewn, but I didn't really know how to do this, so I started sewing the two fabrics together then turned them inside out and then sewed again on the side, to "close" the pouch. But it was too thick.
- "There has to be a better way", I thought. So I unmade it and started again. When I thought it was fine, I turned it inside out and it was a mess...

I tried it again, and again, and one more time...

- "What the heck!!! But I will nail it, or my name isn't ANA!!"
*Below: the girl is saying "WHYYY??"

After a couple of hours and a at least four "do-it-try-it-undo-it" I finally reached the solution and finished my project!

Here is the result of all this. It will have something to keep it closed soon (I'm still figuring it out)
I'm a seamstress aprentice, and very proud of it!

ahhh ficou excelente Ana (:

Beijinho!

Muitos parabéns! It looks lovely, as does the pencil case. I had a similar thought recently— when we move, I will take up sewing and dyeing fabrics, and I will make excellent skirts!

Then I realised, I know very, very little about sewing.

So try, and try again :)
What else will you make?

Hello Samantha!!
Thank you :)
Skirts can be easy to do.. I never tried to make cloths (yet!) but if you like skirts, I think there's a nice and not-too-hard project to start from!

After this little case I made some pencil cases or pencil wraps. I'm happy with the results but now I need to learn how to print the fabrics with my drawings :)
